"I Live Here Now" is a series of stories and essays based on interviews with people who moved countries at some point. For now, I am focussing on stories of people who moved to the United States of America. This is a personal, creative nonfiction project that combines narrative journalism with old fashioned storytelling.
This series is based on a simple premise. That migration is an act of everyday bravery, which changes everything — our worldview, our character, our personality, our relationships, our ambitions, our identity, and our sense of time, place and home.
I want to write at least 100 stories before I pause to reflect on the scope of this passion project, which was conceived in March 2026, in my messy makeshift office at Sunnyvale, California... my apartment.
